Changes to the Energy Code: New Year, New Code (BEMPP2015B)

This presentation will cover changes between IECC 2009 and 2012, ASHRAE 90.1-2007 and 2010,
and discuss NYS and NYC changes to IECC 2012 and ASHRAE 90.1-2010. It will also introduce the
2015 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2013. The course will help participants understand how NYS and NYC
Energy Codes are being enforced and what the future portends. The presentation will also discuss
new and existing building projects and highlight specific issues affecting multi-family projects.

Building Enclosure Commissioning Process - An Introduction (20150512)

This introduction to Building Enclosure Commissioning will discuss what is commissioning, how
this process can apply to building enclosures (roofs, walls, fenestration, etc.) and the potential
value proposition adding this to a project can provide owners and architects. The differences
between fundamental and enhanced commissioning will be outlined. The session will discuss
recent standard developments and certification programs that are under development – touching
on LEED v4 as well as standards ASTM E2813 and E2947. The key deliverables from enclosure
commissioning will be outlined including the Owner Project Requirements, Basis of Design,
Independent Design Review and Issues and Resolution Logs. The session will wrap up with some
tips and tricks to successful commissioning of enclosures along with a slide show of some
problems commissioning aims to avoid or resolve during design and construction. This session is
intended for professionals who are aware of commissioning but seek a higher level of
understanding of this process.

development projects, but significantly impacts alterations to existing buildings as well. Join
former city code officials as they highlight the key provisions of the new code that carry the
greatest impact on your project. Leveraging their experience in handling compliance review for
thousands of development projects at the city, they will highlight with real cases the top
compliances challenges that developers, architects and engineers contend with on a daily basis.
