This renovated condominium on the Upper East Side is a conversion from the previous use as a Mount Sinai Medical Center building. The condominium houses 58 luxury condominiums and incorporates many of the US Green Building Council’s standards and practices for efficient and sustainable living. It is the first classic prewar building in New York City to receive LEED Gold certification after a comprehensive renovation. Ninety-nine percent of the existing structure was reused. Some components of the renovation were complete facade restoration, new windows throughout the building, new HVAC, plumbing and electric, and a lobby renovation. For Building Envelope services, Vidaris was involved with the consulting of the building’s window, masonry facade, and roofing repair/renovation beginning in 2007 and was recently involved with the consulting for the sidewalk and courtyard replacement in 2013. For Sustainability services, Vidaris provided energy efficiency and LEED/green consulting.
