Designed by H. I. Feldman, an apartment house architect whose legacy includes numerous Art Deco structures along the Bronx’s Grand Concourse, The Cranlyn at 80 Cranberry Street in brings a sense of metropolitan swagger to this corner of Brooklyn Heights. Of particular note is the well-preserved lobby interior and highly detailed entrance, the latter of which includes a carved relief of the Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower, then visible from The Cranlyn’s upper floors. Vidaris managed a complete envelope restoration of the building to address many of the reported water infiltrations, including masonry reconstruction, replacing the roof, and consulting on the cleaning of and repairs to what the AIA praised as “jazzy brickwork.”
