Welding Technician
Location(s):
New York, NY
Responsibilities:
- Conducting field review and progress inspection on designated projects to maintain the reliability of the equipment or structure
- Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity
- Verification of tensioning and verification activities
- Ensure familiarity with codes and standards in local markets
- Interpret codes, standards and industry regulations
- Knowledge related to structure construction and nondestructive engineering codesstandards
- Advise Project manager on status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion
- Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams
- Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
- Maintain detailed documents and progression of work from initial proposal through completion
- Present project related technical information to clients and design teams
- Occasional presentation of white papercase studies to technical teams
- Attend in-house seminars and scheduled team meetings
Qualifications:
- Maintain established utilization levels
- Minimum of 2-5 years working with structures, construction or nondestructive engineering services
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards: AWS, ASME, API, NDE methodologies
- Experience using measurement devices
- CWI preferred
- ICC certifications required
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word or suitable document writing programs
- Must demonstrate an ability to work in a dynamic team environment, to think outside the box, and solve complex problems
- Ability to be detail-oriented as well as see the bigger picture
