The Verdesian is the first residential high-rise building in the United States to earn a LEED Platinum rating. Filtered, conditioned, winter-humidified air is distributed to each room in the apartments. All finishes are low-emitting. Energy efficiency measures include a chiller/heater, a gas-fired microturbine and photovoltaics. Vidaris professionals performed the energy and green/LEED analyses. The design team included Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects for design and SLCE for AOR. The work was co-funded by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority.
