Location:Danbury, CT
Architect:Newman Architects
Client:Western Connecticut State University
LEED:LEED Certified

The Centennial Residence Hall was one of the first buildings in the state of Connecticut to achieve certification under the US Green Building Council's LEED program.  This design/build project, undertaken by Konover Construction Corporation and designed by Newman Architects, consists of 103 residential suites on four floors, each having a living/dining room, kitchen, bath and one or two bedrooms for a student population of 350.  The project also includes an adjacent 830-space parking garage that serves both the new facility and two existing residence halls.  The project was designed for an annual energy cost reduction of approximately 33%, compared to the minimum requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1-1999 standard, and internal water use reduction of 36% compared to federal plumbing fixture standards.  The professionals of Vidaris worked on this project while part of another company.
