Lee Ping Kwan
Mr. Kwan is a Registered Architect, Certified Building Official and LEED Accredited Professional with a dual expertise in both building code analysis and high-rise development. He brings an extensive background in architecture and construction to his work in code, and a deep understanding of code and zoning to his work on building envelopes. He currently consults on projects of all sizes, from block-sized mixed-use developments to single-family houses to boutique restaurants. His completed work at Vidaris includes flood mitigation consulting, fire department submittals, zoning review, accessibility waivers, signage legalization, and CCD1/ZRD1 approvals.
Mr. Kwan was previously with the Technical Affairs and Code Development Unit of the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), where he participated in the final editing and annotating of regulatory documents including the 2014 NYC Construction Codes and the 2015 lot line windows Buildings Bulletin, conducted the monthly plan examiner training, and was the primary respondent for the Construction Codes email help desk.
Prior to his time with the DOB, Mr. Kwan was a senior designer at KPF coordinating and designing wall types, floor plans, and overall massing for award-winning projects around the world, most notably a record-breaking terra cotta-clad supertall in Guangzhou.
