Envelope Inspector

Responsibilities:

  • Understand exterior wall construction project phases including but not limited to shop drawing, modeling, design development and construction documents
  • Conducting field review and progress inspection on designated projects
  • Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity
  • Ensure familiarity with building codes in local markets
  • Advise Project manager on status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion
  • Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams
  • Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
  • Maintain detailed documents and progression of work from initial proposal through completion
  • Present project related technical information to clients and design teams
  • Occasional presentation of white papercase studies to technical teams
  • Attend in-house seminars and scheduled team meetings
  • Maintain established utilization levels

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years working with building envelope design, inspection, development and/or engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering
  • Masters in Architecture and 1-3 years’ work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of broad architectural design theories/concepts and specific structural theories/concepts related to exterior wall construction
  • Experience using measurement devices
  • Minimum 10 hour OSHA certification
  • ICC certifications preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word or suitable document writing programs
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work in a dynamic team environment, to think outside the box, and solve complex problems
  • Ability to be detail-oriented as well as see the bigger picture

Welding Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting field review and progress inspection on designated projects to maintain the reliability of the equipment or structure
  • Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity
  • Verification of tensioning and verification activities
  • Ensure familiarity with codes and standards in local markets
  • Interpret codes, standards and industry regulations
  • Knowledge related to structure construction and nondestructive engineering codesstandards
  • Advise Project manager on status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion
  • Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams
  • Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
  • Maintain detailed documents and progression of work from initial proposal through completion
  • Present project related technical information to clients and design teams

Qualifications:

Proposal Writer

Vidaris is a leading specialty architectural consulting firm specializing in building envelope, sustainability, energy efficiency, code advisory and construction advisory services for high-profile projects and Clients. We are currently seeking a Proposal Writer to support our Building Envelope and Sustainability divisions. The Proposal team is integral to the business’ success, providing a first point of interaction with our Clients and defining the services they need. The Proposal Writer will provide support to the multiple Technical Departments and Business Development team in our New York City HQ office. The Proposal Writer will develop and coordinate scope of work / fee proposals and level of effort estimates. This position should be considered if you are a self-motivated individual, with independent work ethic, and are able to coordinate ongoing, short & long-term projects while simultaneously providing immediate, day-to-day contact with both our Clients and our Team Leaders. Experience in the field of Architecture or Engineering or in an architectural consulting firm is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, produce, and work with Principals/Associates/Business Development Team from each of the Vidaris divisions (Building Envelope, Energy/Green, Code Advisory, and Construction Administration) to ensure delivery of excellent proposals.
  • Track the proposals process from request through delivery, and then assist Business Development with follow ups, schedules and accounting inquires.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams as necessary to produce complete service offer packages.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet or beat deadlines and help team maintain best and most efficient practices.
  • Coordinate with the Proposal Manager to develop and maintain template language to achieve a superior proposal experience for our Clients.
  • Contact Clients/prospects to obtain any additional project information needed for accuracy, and confirmation of proposal receipt.
  • Collect, enter and maintain Client and project data for various databases and spreadsheets – including: Opportunities, Sent and Signed Logs.
  • Assist with Project Announcements and Active Project folder set-up, ensure accuracy of:
  • Authorized scope of work
  • Proposal
  • Estimate
  • Client contact and billing information
  • Project Documentation provided by the client during the Proposal preparation phase.
  • Help the team update and maintain current Client contact lists for marketing distribution and billing purposes.
  • Collaborate with fellow proposal writers, review proposal language for clarity, accuracy, grammar and spelling.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks related to our business, as requested.
  • The ability to work as a both a team player as well as independent self-starter.

Required Skills:

  • 2-5 years experience working at an architecture, engineering, construction, marketing or related consulting firm is preferred.
  • Must have excellent organization, communication, writing and time management skills.
  • Able to work and converse efficiently with all levels of colleagues, clients and other external contacts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe InDesign.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision is a plus.

Envelope Senior Consultant, Existing Buildings

Responsibilities:

  • Consult on existing facade design for enhancement or maintenance type projects: forensic review and analysis, Bid Document and repair detail preparation, direct Bidding Phase, and Construction Administration. Well versed in exterior wall construction.
  • Work with Vidaris management departments on our integrated internal services (proposing writing, internal tracking of our budgetary project requirements).
  • Assist with management, and growth, of our services related to the Façade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP).
  • Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams. Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
  • Familiarity with building codes (including Energy Codes) in local markets
  • Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
  • Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity.
  • Provide successful completion and history of managing projects and deliverables.
  • Assist with the oversight and review of Restoration Division staff’s reports and progress of Projects.
  • Assist with managing manpower and Division technical needs and initiatives.
  • Manage staff or team and foster training/mentoring

Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Create project specific requirements and basis of design documents
  • Review HVAC design documentation including drawings, specifications, and controls sequences
  • Create and implement project specific Cx plans
  • Perform submittal reviews
  • Assist with preparation of pre-functional checklists
  • Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity
  • Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams
  • Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed

  • Field verify that HVAC equipment is installed as per the drawings and specifications

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering
  • 3-5 years experience in building commissioning
  • Good organizational skills with ability to independently manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus and attention to detail
  • Basic AutoCAD skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft software, particularly Excel
  • Ability to write clear and detailed reports
  • Energy auditing experience a plus
